Australia - January, 2013

We had a great two and a half weeks in Australia!  First, visiting Melbourne and seeing the Australian Open Tennis tournament (and seeing Venus Williams' first match), then moving on to Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef (for some snorkeling and exploring the rainforest), and finally ending the trip in Sydney (to tour the famous Opera House and relax on Manly Beach).  We visited several zoos and animal sanctuaries, museums, and an aboriginal culture center. We also went wine-tasting in the country, visited the oldest brewery-pub in Sydney, and ate way too much calamari.  What a great country! 

 

 

 

  

 

UCLA Girls Trip - Seattle, April 2012

I had a lovely long weekend with the UCLA girls in sunny (no, really) Seattle.  We lucked out with the weather, and Melissa arranged a fantastic house for us on Puget Sound.  We visited the Space Needle and Pike's Place Market, and went to Olympic National Park.  And, of course, we ate a lot of seafood!

  

Weekend in Glacier National Park, Sept 22-25, 2011

We visited Glacier NP at the end of September because we wanted to see the glaciers before they are gone! It was a beautiful park, although it requires a lot of driving (and a lot of waiting due to road construction). Even though it had snowed there the week before, we lucked out and had great weather with highs in the 70's.
